Shift Differential Calculator

Use the time card to total night or weekend shift hours, then add your per-hour shift differential in the pay field (e.g. $18 base + $2 night premium = $20). Overtime is computed on the higher rate, as the FLSA regular-rate rules require.

Frequently asked questions

Does a shift differential raise my overtime rate?

Yes. Shift differentials are part of the regular rate of pay (29 CFR 778.207), so time-and-a-half is based on the base rate plus the differential.
